About

Off the beaten path, down Ardnamurchan peninsula, lies the very remote Ardnamurchan distillery. In fact, the distillery is considered one of the most remote distilleries in Scotland. Owned by Adelphi Distillery, an independent bottling company established in 1826, Ardnamurchan is a fairly new distillery that opened in July 2014, with a very bright future producing world class single malt.

The owners chose this remote location for many reasons, but mainly because it offered a high quality of water from the nearby Glenmore river, access to peat from future maltings, wood chips for biomass boiler and renewable energy for power in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint. This Western Highlands destination is famous for its outstanding and untouched beauty and abundance of natural resources.
